The Raleigh chapter donated over 30 Turtle pillows to the Painted Turtle project. This was the 2011 Los Angeles Chapter National Community Service project. They were host of the 2011 ASG conference in August.
The Wilmington NG made and donated 12 window valances for the Domestic Violence Shelter this fall. They also made several dozen hygiene bags (washcloth bags containing toothbrush/paste/floss).

The Houston Chapter, host of ASG’s 2012 annual conference, invites all ASG chapters to participate in The Blanket
Project which addresses a need common to all communities and provides warmth and comfort to those most in need of it. We have selected
three types of blankets for our national community service project:
We’re encouraging you to support your
own communities by donating blankets locally; please find an organization in your area that can use these blankets.
Community Service is a part of NG activities where members use their sewing skills to help those less fortunate.
Past Community
Service projects have included:

· Sewing bibs for senior residents of nursing homes
· Sewing Bereavement Envelopes for
Wake Medical Center
· Sewing Layettes With Love for the Maternal Health Center
· Teaching sewing at a local girl's school
